Apparently there was an earthquake last night in Taiwan, around magnitude 7 depending on who you ask. I heard about this not because I am particularly good at keeping up with the news, but because when I got into work this morning, nobody could connect to a number of overseas websites or services.
Evidently, this earthquake has disrupted a number of undersea cables, thus, my office’s (and many offices here, apparently) very poor connectivity today. Oh well, while it makes some things much more difficult (using the web as a reference text), it does deny me some distractions.
