Today was my first day of work. It was fairly uneventful. The software my company is developing, however, does not work at all with OS X (or any non-Windows OS for that matter, I believe) so that was a source of some figuring (as it took a while before everybody realized that ActiveX means Windows, period).
When I got home, I was pretty exhausted and so the ensuing hassle of having to figure out my address so tomorrow somebody can come by and deliver some documents was extra-hassling.
When that was finally done, I just didn’t feel like going out to eat anymore, so I went to the nearest convenience store and grabbed some stuff that looked like it might be tasty, and what you see here is the result of my dinner of champions.
Ramen (I think it was the same Korean type/brand I ate so often that one Summer in NYC), plain yogurt, which is basically drinkable here in China (this is a positive, in my mind as it makes a tasty milk substitute), and 600 mL of cheap, poorly refrigerated beer (the Kind of Beers, even, haha [that is Budweiser, right?]). Bonus points for eating out of the pot I cooked the noodles in, over the stove no less.
I’m living the stereotypical dream. Now, because it’s a staggering 22:10 China Time, which translates to, uh, 6 AM or something PST, I am rather quite tired. So rather than continue to suffer the occasional irritated sensations from my yet-again-infected eye, I’m going to put in some meds (prescriptions? who needs ‘em! [nobody, in China]) and try to sleep for a continuous stretch of at least 6 hours tonight.
