Thanksgiving Break

November 28th, 2005 · No Comments

I wrote some notes when I was sitting at the gate in Philadelphia before flying home, but most of what I wrote then I think isn’t so interesting now.

My break was excellent, I had a wonderful time seeing family and friends and the whole trip was filled with great company and great food.

A shortened version of my trip is something like this: I flew in Wednesday night, got picked up by my friend Geddes, stayed at his house that night. Thursday morning, I headed in to my cousin Alex’s house, met up with a lot of family and spent the day with them, and eating a many-coursed Thanksgiving dinner. That night, I slept at my sister Cara’s apartment, which she’s since moved out of. Friday morning, I met Geddes and Anthony at the Amtrak station and we killed some time until later when Geddes picked up Ani and Alex as well. We all hung around at Geddes’ house for a while, until I went to have dinner with my sisters and mother at Cara’s place of employment, Valanni. The food was great, and then after dinner I got a ride back to Geddes’. Saturday was pretty relaxed and we spent most of the day hanging around, and being nostalgic. We also celebrated Geddes’ youngest sister’s birthday at dinner. I didn’t go out and partake in the customary 21st birthday binge drinking, but, I’m pretty certain I’m not missing out on anything I can’t do whenever I like now. Sunday, Tyo had to head out early, but afterwards we all headed over to Alex and Andy’s place again to have brunch. After that, we headed back to Geddes’, and hung around until it was time for us all to head out to our various means of departure (trains and planes).

Yeah, I know, that’s the shortened version.

While I was sitting in the airports, I’d open up iTunes and start looking around at people’s music shares, and see what kinds of things were in their recently played or top 25 played lists. Is this exceedingly creepy? I worry that it might be.

The whole extended weekend was a ton of fun though. I’m a little worried about how things are doing on the employment front, having now compared myself to Ani and Tyo, both of whom have secured jobs nice looking jobs in NY.

But, alas I must postpone my panic about having nothing to do for a little while longer, as finals week looms and I’m far from prepared.
